The Royal BC Museum - Feature Exhibition
November 20, 2009 to March 8, 2010

S’abadeb – The Gifts: Pacific Coast Salish Art and Artists makes its Canadian premiere at the Royal BC Museum November 20, 2009 to March 8, 2010. The exhibition showcases works of art from the Salish First Nations of BC and Washington State – historic sculpture, basketry and weaving are displayed alongside contemporary artworks to emphasize the ongoing vitality of today’s Salish artistic traditions.

This is the first comprehensive exhibition of Coast Salish art and culture ever to be presented. Created by the Seattle Art Museum, and featuring items from 19 institutions around the world (including seven items from the Royal BC Museum), S’abadeb is a collection of 165 artifacts divided into five sections.
